Pancake fun

The September holidays are here! We’ve got the whole week planned with lots of different activities. One of #4’s classmate came over to spend the day with us so we decided to try the DIY pancake place called Nook at Lorong Kilat (Upper bukit timah area).

This is how it works. You choose your batter flavour and your toppings and cook them yourself. Simple.

They have 6 flavours of batter: original, strawberry, chocolate, pandan, banana and red velvet. You pick your sweet toppings for $1.50 each.

They chose marshmallows, kit kat, chocolate sprinkles and apple slices

We ordered a total of 4 squeeze jars and 4 sweet toppings for 6 kids. The other 2 jars of batter came about 30 minutes later as they ran out of batter and had to make a new batch. As it was teachers’ day holiday, this place was packed to the brim with teens and families with young kids.

Also on the menu are savoury toppings such as harsh brown or sausages which can be eaten as sides.
Besides pancake, they do have other dishes such as pasta, sandwiches, and soups. I ordered the cheeseburger pasta which was unique, but nothing to rave about.

Concentrating on cooking it properly

They had fun creating all sorts of designs and 2 hours and 4 jars of batter later, they were mighty full.

#1’s masterpiece

Sane tip: This is a fun place to go with the kids as they get to create their own pancakes. And of course, they happily ate up their creations.

Save tip: Each squeeze jar cost $10. For younger children, 3 kids can share 1 squeeze jar and perhaps 2 sweet toppings, especially if it’s just for tea. If it’s for lunch, they can add on some sides like hash brown, eggs, mashed potato or sausages.
